Creating Safe Havens: Highway Wolf Highlights My Pack of Wolves Sanctuary

San Francisco, CA, August 18, 2025… Highway Wolf’s Howling for a Cause series continues with a spotlight on My Pack of Wolves Sanctuary, a nonprofit based in Thompson, Ohio, that has been rescuing and protecting wolves and wolf-dogs since 2011. Founded by Mark Stredney, the sanctuary was created to give neglected, abandoned, and misunderstood animals a place to heal, grow, and live with dignity. The organization’s mission is rooted in compassion, offering each wolf a second chance in an environment where they are not only safe, but seen, respected, and valued.

Through hands-on care, community education, and advocacy, My Pack of Wolves is changing the way people understand these often-misjudged animals. The sanctuary’s outreach efforts focus on replacing fear with knowledge, sparking curiosity and connection through immersive experiences and thoughtful conversations around conservation. Supporters can get involved through donations, symbolic adoptions, volunteering, or by helping spread awareness. With plans to open for tours in the near future, the sanctuary is building a future where wolves and the people who protect them can thrive together.

Executive Director, Mark Stredney and Co-Director, Shannen Stitt share, “At My Pack of Wolves Sanctuary, our mission has always been about compassion, connection, and second chances—for both wolves and people. Our collaboration with Highway Wolf beautifully reflects that spirit. As lifelong lovers of ’70s and ’80s music, this partnership holds a special place in our hearts. To be part of a journey that blends powerful storytelling, music, and our shared love for these magnificent animals is truly meaningful to us. We’re honored to stand alongside Highway Wolf in raising awareness and building a future where wolves are respected, understood, and protected.”

“My Pack of Wolves Sanctuary represents the heart of rescue, where compassion, education, and community come together to give these amazing animals a second chance,” says Mick Hellman. “Their work reminds us that protecting wolves starts with understanding them. It’s about building trust, nurturing connection, and creating space for both wolves and people to heal and grow.” Highway Wolf invites music fans and wildlife advocates to support My Pack of Wolves by getting involved, spreading the word, or contributing directly to their mission.
