Amplifying Awareness: Highway Wolf Shines Light on California Wolf Center
San Francisco, CA | November 10, 2025… Highway Wolf’s Howling for a Cause series continues with this month’s spotlight on the California Wolf Center (CWC), a nonprofit organization based in Julian, California, dedicated to creating a sustainable future where wolves and people share a thriving ecosystem. Through conservation, education, and stewardship, CWC brings communities together to ensure wolves, livestock, and people can coexist in today’s world.
The center’s mission goes far beyond population recovery. For CWC, true success means wolves surviving peacefully alongside responsible ranching communities and diverse groups of people united by understanding and respect. From protecting the endangered Mexican gray wolf to leading conversations on coexistence, their work represents a holistic approach to wild wolf recovery that prioritizes both people and wildlife.
“We’re honored to be Highway Wolf’s featured organization spotlight,” shares Christine Barton, Executive Director of the California Wolf Center. “Their commitment to education and conservation aligns perfectly with our mission to protect and restore wolves in their native habitats. Wolves are a keystone species, and the health of entire ecosystems depends on their presence. By working together, we can amplify awareness and inspire action to ensure that wolves, and the wild landscapes they sustain, continue to thrive.”

“The California Wolf Center is redefining what real coexistence looks like,” says Mick Hellman. “In addition to helping wolves survive, they’re also helping people understand them, respect them, and see how vital they are to the ecosystems we all depend on.” Highway Wolf invites music fans and wildlife advocates to support the California Wolf Center by booking a tour, becoming a member, sponsoring a wolf, shopping their Nature Store, or donating through their wish lists on Amazon or Chewy. Supporters who are a little too far away from this one can visit through their virtual and interactive Wolf Cam, powered by Zoolife, which offers real-time views of their wolves, even during snowy, playful winter days! Keep up to date with them through their social media — Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, & LinkedIn.
