Highway Wolf Highlights Wolves of Maine Sanctuary in Latest Howling for a Cause Spotlight
San Francisco, CA | August 19, 2026…Highway Wolf’s Howling for a Cause initiative continues this month with a spotlight on Wolves of Maine Sanctuary, a nonprofit rescue and education center dedicated to providing lifelong care for abused, neglected, and abandoned wolves, wolfdogs, and wolf hybrids. Founded through the efforts of volunteers who rescued wolves from a sanctuary forced to close, the organization has grown into a thriving refuge that now provides a safe and enriching home for nine wolf hybrids. Alongside its rescue efforts, Wolves of Maine Sanctuary remains committed to educating the public about wolf ecology, conservation, and responsible wolfdog ownership while working to create a future where these remarkable animals are better understood and protected.
As a fully volunteer-run organization, community support is at the heart of everything Wolves of Maine Sanctuary accomplishes. Volunteers make it possible to provide daily care, enrichment, habitat maintenance, and educational outreach, while donations help fund food, veterinary care, and future expansion plans, including additional habitats and a visitor education center.
